A 35-year-old man is accused of stealing mail, including thousands of dollars worth of checks, from a Connecticut post office.
Hartford County resident Erick Gomez-Rodriguez, of New Britain, turned himself in to Connecticut State Police on Tuesday, Aug. 30, Connecticut State Police reported.
State Police began investigating a burglary and mail theft at the Andover Post Office, located at 335 Route 5 in Andover, on Jan. 23, authorities said.

Three men, two from Fairfield County, have been arrested for allegedly stealing mail from throughout the area.
Victor Mejia-Gonzalez, 30, of New York City, Jorge Guerrero-Melendez, 21, of Bridgeport, and John Delos Santos, 22, also of Bridgeport, were arrested on Saturday, Oct. 31, a warrant in connection with a traffic stop on Tuesday, May 5, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri.
The incident began when officers were responding to the report of two suspicious males seen running in a yard on Casement Street, Palmieri said.

Suspects Nabbed For Allegedly Stealing From Greenwich Mailboxes, Police Say
Three people were nabbed for allegedly stealing mail from Greenwich mailboxes after police received a call reporting the crime.
The three arrested, Kelvin Cacho, 26; Shawnique McCalla, 22, and Anthony Dixon, 27, all of the Bronx, were arrested around 2 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 26, after witnesses, provided Greenwich Police a description of the vehicle being used.
After locating the vehicle, a 2004 Acura, officers made a traffic stop and found McCalla driving with Cacho in the passenger seat. Dixon was located a short distance away.

Four Caught With Stolen Mail During Greenwich Traffic Stop, Police Say
Four men have been arrested after they were caught with stolen mail during a traffic stop in Greenwich, according to police.
Greenwich Police say the stop was initiated after the vehicle was observed being driven without lights on in the Riverside section of town on Monday, July 29 around 2:50 a.m.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was occupied by four men who were in possession of other people’s mail, police say.
