Stratford Man Sentenced For Fentanyl Distribution, Gun Possession
A Fairfield County man who admitted to selling dangerous fentanyl pills disguised as pain medication will spend two and a half years in prison. Stratford resident Luis Colon, age 51, was sentenced to 32 months behind bars Tuesday, July 12, in federal court in Hartford. It followed his March 2021 guilty pleas to charges of conspiring to possess and distribute fentanyl, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Federal prosecutors said Colon, who is also known as “Big Lou” and “Hitman,” sold approximately 300 fentanyl pills that were disguised as oxycodone to a co-conspirator. Fentanyl is a …

Man Pleads Guilty In Fatal Shooting Of Fairfield County Teen
A Fairfield County man is facing up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to killing a 14-year-old boy during a downtown shoot-out, according to the State Attorney's Office. Garth Minto, 23, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and possession of a gun without a permit, said Senior Assistant State Attorney Howard Stein. Man Involved In Fatal Shooting Of Teen In Bridgeport Pleads Guilty
One of two men responsible for the death of a 14-year-old Bridgeport teen pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and possession of a pistol without a permit just before heading to trial for his murder, according to the State's Attorney Office. Michael "Smitty" Majors, 24, was about to go to trial for the death of Luis Colon who was gunned down during a gun battle between Major and Garth Minto on Christmas Eve 2015.
