Flu Now Widespread In Connecticut, With Three Related Deaths Reported
Flu season is in full gear, with another flu-related death reported this week in Connecticut, as the Department of Public Health described the "influenza activity classification" as “widespread.”
According to the Department of Public Health, during the week of Monday, Dec. 1, a third flu-associated death was reported, each oner the age of 65. There were 29 new hospitalizations for flu-related symptoms, bringing the total to 120 on the season.

Death Toll For Flu Season In CT Hits 57
As the flu remains widespread across the state, the Connecticut Department of Public Health announced two more deaths, bringing the total number this season to 57.
According to the state's weekly flu report, of the 57 deaths, 37 of the people were 65 or older, 15 were between the ages of 50 and 64, four were between 25 and 49, and one was between the ages of 5 and 17.
To date, a total of 2,670 people were hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed influenza during the current season, the report says.
