Two Cats Killed After Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Bridgeport Two cats were killed during an apartment fire in Bridgeport. The fire started Sunday afternoon, July 14 at a three-story apartment building on Monroe Street, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Fire Department. The fire was contained to the apartment on the second floor of the building and no occupants were home at the time, he said. The cats were found when firefighters searched the unit.
