Man Charged With Violating Protective Order, Assault, Strangulation, Darien Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested twice within a week for allegedly strangling his victim before repeatedly violating a court-issued protective order, police said. Officers from the Darien Police Department responded to a Greenwood Avenue home on Wednesday, Sept. 9, where there was a report of a domestic dispute that turned physical. Alert Issued For Eversource Gas Main Project In New Canaan
As part of a multi-million-dollar project to expand the natural gas distribution system in Darien and New Canaan, Eversource Energy will be working along State Routes 106 and 124 beginning the week of April 30. According to local police, drivers may experience delays due to alternating one-way traffic as well as occasional lane closures. Motorists planning on traveling through Darien can expect delays and detours as contracting crews from Eversource kick off a “significant natural gas expansion project.” The Darien Police Department issued an alert on Thursday, warning that beginning next week, several roadways are expected to see lane closures and motorists can expect delays in the area as the project begins, which is expected to last several months.
