Police Officer Injured In Crash On Way To Call, Police Say A police officer was injured after a vehicle pulled out in front of him causing him to swerve and smash into a utility pole while responding to a crime. The crash took place around 2:25 a.m., Tuesday, May 5 in Fairfield County when Bridgeport Police Officer Ferdinand Ferrao while responding to a commercial burglary alarm in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of the city's Office of Emergency Management.  According to Appleby, Ferrao was dispatched to Price Right on Main Street for a commercial alarm.
