Principal In Fairfield County Placed On Leave Pending Investigation Students at one Fairfield County school found a new principal at the helm on Thursday after their former leader was placed on leave pending an investigation. Darien's Hindley Elementary Principal DJ Collela has been placed on leave, the district told parents in a letter sent last month. Although the details concerning his leave were not released, the school is apparently looking into his conduct as a principal.  Collela was appointed to on July 1, 2016.
