The incident occurred in New Haven County in Oxford at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Brookside Inn Restaurant and a nearby residence. The rescue occurred when Beacon Falls firefighters responded to calls in Seymour and Oxford to help Oxford crews, who were extraordinarily busy with emergencies throughout town. The fire took place in Norwalk around 7:50 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, on France Street. At around 12:30 p.m. Milford 911 received a report of a person “stuck in the mud" at Eisenhower Park pond, firefighters said. The park is on North Street (Route 121). The man had become trapped in the murky waters after he tried to rescue his dog, “Ghost.” “Ghost the dog has decided to explore the pond area and became trapped and his owner attempted the initial rescue,” firefighters said.
