DNA Technology Identifies New 9/11 Victim
The latest 9/11 victim has been confirmed using new technology, officials announced. On Thursday, Jan. 18, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced alongside the city’s Chief Medical Examiner that the Long Island man has been identified as Oyster Bay resident John Ballantine Niven. Niven is the 1,650th person to be identified through advanced DNA analysis of remains recovered from the attack. New Update: 34-Year-Old Who Went Missing In 1996 ID'd As Jane Doe No. 7 In Gilgo Beach Case
This story has been updated. Police investigators have identified another victim in the Long Island Gilgo Beach murder investigation. The name for a victim who had been known as Fire Island Jane Doe No. 7 was revealed to be Karen Vergata, age 34, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney and the Gilgo Beach Investigative Taskforce announced in a news conference late Friday morning, Aug. 4. Four Charged With Breaking Into Milford Home, Robbing Residents At Gunpoint
MILFORD, Conn. -- Four people were charged with breaking into a Milford home in May and robbing the residents at gunpoint, according to police. On May 29, Milford Police received a report of a home invasion that had just taken place at a Melba Street home. The caller reported that the suspects had used a firearm to forcibly take items from the home, and then had left in a silver Infiniti sedan.
