The Northeast is well-represented in new rankings of the 100 most expensive zip codes in the nation.
Two of the top 10 zip codes according to Property Shark Real Estate Reports are in New York, with both on Long Island, in the Hamptons:
No. 2 Sagaponack (zip code 11962) with a median home sale price in 2023 of $8,075,000,
No. 6 (tie) Water Mill (11976) with a median home sale price in 2023 of $4,500,000.
Six of the Top 10 zip codes are in California, including No. 1 Atherton (94027), located near San Francisco, ($8,300,000 median sales price).

These Zip Codes In Northeast Among Top 10 Most Expensive In US, New Report Says
Four zip codes in the Northeast rank in the Top 10 for most expensive in the United States, according to a brand-new report.
The rankings, published by CNBC, were determined by median home sale prices.
Three of those four zip codes are on the east end of Long Island, led by No. 2 Sagaponack (11962), which the report says has a median home sale price of $6,972,500, behind only No. 1 Atherton, California (94027), which is $9 million.
The other zip codes in the Hamptons making the Top 10 were Water Mill (11976) and Bridgehampton (11932).

Atherton, California, a San Francisco suburb located in San Mateo County, ranked No. 1 for the fourth year in a row with an annual household income of $525,324.

A new report reveals multiple Fairfield County zip codes among the most expensive in the country.
The most expensive zip code in the country, Atherton, California (94027), has remained at the top spot due to what Property Shark calls a “considerable spike in its median sale price.”
Here’s how some local zips measure up:
Ranking 49 on the list is Riverside (06878), with a 2018 median sale price of $1,855,000.
In the 65th spot is Old Greenwich (06870), with a 2018 median sale price of $1,665,000.

GREENWICH, Conn. — Two ZIP codes in Greenwich share an interesting distinction: They’re among the 100 priciest in the country.
Based on home sales closed in 2017, the 06878 and 06830 ZIP codes took the 78th and 89th spots, respectively, on the list compiled by PropertyShark, a leading real estate data provider.
The 06878 area had a median sale price of $1,507,500 and 06830 had a median sale price of $1,445,000.
