The renovations, which will cost $125.9 million, would make over the school from top to bottom and would be paid for in part by up to $65 million in bond money if approved by the Ordinance Committee. Both items are subject to public hearings before final approval, said the Stratford Star.
A special council workshop for the public to find out more about the project, and to discuss the cost will be held on Feb. 18 at Stratford High School. Board of Education Chairman Jim Feeha said the clock is ticking to gain approval, and send the necessary paperwork to the General Assembly in order to secure the 60 percent reimbursement rate. The Ordinance Committee will meet on the issue on Feb. 22, added the Stratford Star.
