Gresko has also represented the state's 121st District in the General Assembly after winning February's special election, after which he declared he would eventually depart Town Council, Stratford Star reported.

He said on Monday night that it was now time to depart since the Council had completed the town budget for the next fiscal year, said Stratford Star.

Gresko voted against the $215.3 million budget, which was approved in a 6-5 vote after Mayor John Harkins cast the tie-breaking vote, Stratford Star reported.

The council may hold a special meeting to establish a date for a special election to replace Gresko to take place prior to July 4, said Stratford Star.
