Town Attorney Christopher M. Hodgson said Dumas resigned effective immediately on Monday and state law doesn't allow for a reversal, reports Connecticut Post.

Dumas handed a letter of resignation to the town clerk on Monday at 8:07 a.m. and then submitted a letter withdrawing the resignation at 9:23 a.m., reports Connecticut Post.

The Democratic Town Committee is looking at candidates and some say Dumas won't be missed on the council because he tested limits and caused meetings to run near midnight, reports Connecticut Post.
