Third Arrest Made In Violent Armed Robbery, Kidnapping At Milford Motel

MILFORD, Conn. — A third arrest has been made in a violent armed robbery and kidnapping at a Motel 6 in Milford in April, police said.

Edgardo Patron,  39, of 9 Ellis St., Milford, was taken into custody and arrested Friday. He was charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, and first-degree larceny.

Patron was held on $250,000 bond to appear in court on June 2.

On April 12, four assailants — one of whom had a handgun — attacked the victim, who was restrained with zip-ties and whose mouth was taped with duct tape, police said.

A large sum of cash and clothing were taken in the incident at 3:30 a.m. at the Motel 6 at 111 Schoolhouse Road, police said.

The victim had a planned meeting with a woman, whom he knew only on a first-name basis, at the hotel, police said. When the woman arrived at the victim’s motel door, three Hispanic men were with her and attacked him, police said.

Milford police made two earlier arrests in the attack. 

On May 4, Milford Police took Abimnel Mangual, 37, of Waterbury, into custody on active arrest warrant.After a DNA match to Mangual by the State Forensic Laboratory, a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.

He was charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, criminal use of a firearm and first-degree larceny. 

On April 25, Jacqueline Steck, 18, of 9 Ellis St., Milford, was arrested and charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, and first-degree larceny.
