Teen Charged With Stealing Car In Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. -- A teen stole a car before leading police on a chase and crashing it in Stratford Monday evening, according to the Stratford Star.

Police told the Stratford Star that they tried to stop the stolen car on Woodend Road at around 6 p.m. The car, which was driven by a 15-year-old, pulled over to let two people out, and then took off onto Stratford Avenue, according to the Stratford Star. Police ended the pursuit, but later learned that the car had crashed on Boston Avenue and the teen was seen leaving on foot, the Stratford Star reported.

The 15-year-old was found a short time later hiding behind a dumpster, police told the Stratford Star. He was charged with third-degree larceny, reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, driving without a license, and reckless endangerment, and was released to a parent, the Stratford Star reported.
