An eighth-grader at Wooster Middle School reported a threat in a group message on Kik that was titled, “Never be afraid to die,” Lt. Frank Eannotti told the Star.
A total of 27 students from Stratford and Bridgeport passed around a message that spoke of a possible shooting at Stratford High School, Wooster Middle School or Bridgeport’s Fairchild Wheeler Magnet School, the Star said.
Eannotti said that the social media threat, which has been circulating around the country, is unsubstantiated and that no direct threats were made by the students targeting the schools, the Star said.
No arrests have been made in the case, but police officers will be available to parents and students, the Star said.
