To Stratford residents:

This holiday season the Stratford Police Department launched a new, and what we hope to be an annual community service event, called “SPD Random Acts of Kindness.”

Just before Christmas, Stratford police officers issued gift cards and gift certificates to citizens at random on the street, in parking lots and at local stores. Not only were the recipients very grateful, but, more importantly, our officers thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to our citizens.

This initiative was just the latest in our efforts to establish and maintain positive relationships between the Police Department and the community we serve.

We would like to thank the following local businesses that donated the gift cards and certificates in support of our efforts: Frank’s Plumbing, Kid K Kreations, Jackson Law Group, Attorney Carl Glad, Riverview Bistro, Windmill Restaurant, Metro Diner, Maxwell’s Restaurant, Dao Restaurant, Paradise Pizza and River’s Edge Café.

Thank you again to these businesses for making this event possible. We greatly appreciate the support we have received from the entire Stratford community and encourage you to take advantage of outreach programs offered through the Stratford Police and the Stratford Police Activities League.

On behalf of all of the members of the Stratford Police Department, I wish you all a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year.

Stratford Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour
