Brandyn Ford was arrested Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of Andre Pettway, 27, of Bridgeport on Saturday night, police said in a statement.
Ford was arrested after members of the Stratford Police Department Special Response Team served a warrant at his residence.
He was charged murder, weapon in a motor vehicle, risk of injury to minors, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
The shooting occurred at about 6:50 p.m. at 54 Garibaldi Ave., police said. Pettway was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he died, police said.
Police had been seeking information about a black Hyundai Sonata that fled the scene of the shooting.
Ford was held on $1.5 million bond for a Tuesday court appearance.
