The two suspects were caught on a municipal surveillance camera breaking into the vehicle on early Sunday morning, McGrath said. Police officer Dustin Murphy witness the footage and sent out a description of the suspects.

Officer Jose Diaz heard the description and found the two suspects on the Stratford Metro-North train platform. The two suspects were found with stolen property in their possession.

"Without the diligent police work rendered by these two fine officers, the items stolen might never have been recovered and the perpetrators punished for their crime," McGrath said in a letter. "Stratford Officers Murphy and Diaz, thank you."
