Officers were alerted to a suspicious vehicle that was parked and running on Old Field Road near Sea Flower Road in Milford at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Upon arrival at the car, they found Bridgeport resident Jennifer Spezzano slumped over the steering wheel.

Spezzano was unresponsive to officers’ attempts to wake her up, and police said that she “appeared to be ineffectively breathing.” The doors to the car were locked, forcing the officer to break a window to check on Spezzano’s safety, at which point she woke up.

Further investigation found that Spezzano was in possession of crack cocaine and two glass smoking pipes. Spezzano, 39, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 26 to respond to the charges.
