Police: Danbury Man Broke Into Ex's Stratford Home, Assaulted Her With Gun

STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Danbury man was charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend's Stratford home and trying to rob her and her new boyfriend, according to police.

Stratford officers were called to a River Bend Road home at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday on a report of a home invasion and robbery. They were told that 19-year-old Jeffrey Bispo of Danbury had entered the home and tried to rob his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, according to police.

The ex-girlfriend told police that Bispo was armed with a hand gun during the incident, and that he had struck her in the neck and face with it, according to police. He fled the scene with an unidentified accomplice after a neighbor intervened, allowing the resident to flee and call the police.

Bispo left in a 2008 Saturn Outlook, which was registered to his mother, who lives in Danbury, police said. Danbury Police were alerted, and were able to locate and arrest Bispo.

Bispo was charged with home invasion, sixth-degree larceny, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault with a firearm, and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $250,000.
