Milford Police: Man Tried To Lure Child On Way To Bus Stop Into BMW

MILFORD, Conn. — A man driving a BMW SUV tried to lure an 11-year-old child into the late-model vehicle Tuesday morning by claiming to be a family friend, Milford police said.

The Milford Police Department is investigating the suspicious incident, which occurred at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 28 on Baxter Lane near Apple Jack Lane.  

A man driving an early 2000s white BMW SUV with dice on the rearview mirror and flames on the rims tried to lure the child into his vehicle while the child was walking to the bus stop, police said. 

"The male claimed to be a family friend and asked the child to open the rear hatch to the vehicle and grab an item that was in the vehicle. The child ran to a friend’s house nearby and the male speed off toward New Haven Avenue," police said in a statement.

The suspect was described as a white man who was 25 to 30 years old with brown or black hair.
