The 19-year-old woman told police she was behind the store at the Milford Market Place at 1686 Boston Post at 12:45 p.m. during her break, police said.

That's when she was approached by a large older model white van or SUV, police said.

The driver — a man described at a 50-year-old white man with gray hair and beard — grabbed the woman by the arm in an attempt to pull her inside the vehicle, police said.

She told officers that was able to escape his grasp, retreat into the store and notify police.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Milford police at 203-878-6551.
