Jachim Brown, 27, had inside information that there would be cash in a bin under the bar when he went to to downtown bar on Nov. 14, the Connecticut Post reported. A former bouncer had told him that the cash would be there, police told the Connecticut Post.
According to police, Brown went into BAR on Main Street and demanded money before shooting the bartender in the abdomen. He was arrested the next day after exchanging gunfire with an off-duty officer during a robbery in Bridgeport, according to police. He is also wanted in several other robberies.

While appearing in court on Monday, Brown pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and first-degree threatening related to the Stratford robbery, according to the Connecticut Post. He requested a jury trial, and his case was continued until January, the Connecticut Post reported.
Eric Chambers of Bridgeport, who was arrested in November after police said he acted as a getaway driver in the BAR robbery, had previously worked at the bar as a bouncer, according to the Connecticut Post. He knew that the payroll would be delivered that night, and is suspected of dropping Brown off for other robberies as well, according to the Connecticut Post.
The bartender, Regi Woodward, is recovering from the gunshot wounds, the Connecticut Post reported. A GoFundMe campaign was set up to help him in his recovery.
