Bridgeport Man Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Stratford Crash

STRATFORD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was arrested on charges of second-degree manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash last year in Stratford, Connecticut State Police said.

Jonathan Rosa-Whitlock, 27, who lives on the University of Bridgeport campus, turned himself in to state police after learning there was a warrant for his arrest, police said. He was wanted in connection with an accident on April 26, 2015, on the Merritt Parkway that left an a 27-year-old Bridgeport man dead, police said.

Rosa-Whitlock was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he drove his 2015 Subaru Impreza at 82 mph and rear-ended the victim’s vehicle, police said. The accident occurred on the southbound Merritt south of Exit 53 and north of the James Farm Road overpass in Stratford, state police said.

He was also charged with DUI, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, speeding and failure to drive at a reasonable distance, police said.

He was released on $15,000 bond pending a March 9 court date, state police said.
