Peter Burdick, 24, had originally told police that a panhandler he met after drinking at a local bar had been driving the car when the accident occurred in Bridgeport that killed Nancy DiStefano Keller, 53, the Post said.
Investigators found his blood on the airbag and windshield on the driver's side window, the Post said. He then said that Keller had driven through a stop sign, said the Connecticut Post.
Burdick was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle and operating under the influence of alcohol. He will be sentenced June 20, added the Connecticut Post.
