The passengers were leaving the New Haven-bound train and crossing over a track when the incident occurred at about 1 p.m., according to NBC Connecticut.

One woman appeared to hurt her hand, and a man appeared to be uninjured as they left the train, which was on the middle track, NBC Connecticut said.

The walkway allows passengers to cross over the tracks, which are under repair, closest to the platform, NBC said.

Workers at the scene came to their assistance, the story said.
