The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County supports Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Newtown, Redding, Shelton, Southport, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston and Westport.
The money raised at the evening's live auction directly support the league's “Healthy Families, Healthy Futures” community projects, which impact at-risk Bridgeport families in the areas of literacy, healthy lifestyles and hunger and its mission.
“Our gala was the perfect way to commemorate our 95th anniversary year. We are grateful to our members, many distinguished guests, community leaders and sponsors who joined us to support our league, its mission and our community projects," said President Samantha Collin.
"Our members volunteer thousands of hours a year to better the lives of those in greatest need in the Bridgeport area and we are deeply grateful to everyone for their support and proud to have made our community a more vital place for 95 years," she added.
Bidding items include a week’s stay in St. Thomas, a week in Killington, Vt., New York Yankees and Jets tickets, a necklace from Henry C. Reid and a “Date Night For a Year” package that included gift certificates to 12 local restaurants.
Guests were able to directly support community programs as well during the live auction. That money will go toward book clubs the league operates at Thomas Hooker School, the monthly meal members prepare for Operation Hope and the Healthy Families Dinner Series.
