CT Man Charged With Assault After Entering Home, Threatening 2 Victims

A 37-year-old Connecticut man was charged with burglary and assault after walking into a residence and threatening two victims inside and refusing to leave.

The incident took place in New Haven County around 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 23 in Naugatuck.

According to Naugatuck Police, officers responded to the home after the man, identified as Luke Genovese, of Naugatuck, fled after injuring a disabled woman.

During the incident, the victims reported that the Genovese entered their residence unannounced and was highly intoxicated, police said.

It was reported that he refused to leave and began arguing with both victims and began threatening one of the victims. Genovese then began to leave after he was told the police had been called. 

He was spotted on surveillance footage pushing a disabled woman to the ground causing injury. The accused fled from the area and then sent numerous messages to one of the victims threatening to harm both, police added.

Genovese was arrested on Wednesday, May 24, and charged with:

  • Risk of injury to a child
  • Burglary
  • Assault 
  • Two counts of threatening
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Harassment

He was held on a $100,000 bond pending his arraignment on Thursday, May 25.
