The Golden Corral is located at 74 Turnpike Square across from the Connecticut Post Mall.

The restaurant chain, which is everywhere in the South, serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is best known for its hot buffet, where diners can enjoy unlimited quantities of everything from pizza to steak and a wide selection of foods from various ethnicities. It also offers a breakfast buffet and a soup and hot potato bar.

Its hours are:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays
  • 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
  • 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays

And the new Golden Corral isn't finished yet, according to the Connecticut Post. The restaurant will expand its current seating from 298 to 400 as it adds another room for groups.

How popular is the restaurant? The Milford Police Department issued a warning last week on Facebook for hungry diners to be prepared for gridlock on the roads when the hugely popular buffet restaurant opens.

"Expect heavy traffic in the area of Turnpike Square for the opening of Golden Corral, consider alt routes," Milford police posted on Facebook.

The Golden Corral too over and renovated the space that formerly housed Hometown Buffet.
