Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, age 42, was busted in Hartford on Wednesday, Nov. 6 on an extradition warrant out of Orlando, the police blotter said. She is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42, Orlando Police said. She also faces one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of grand theft.
Medina-Pacheco traveled from the Dominican Republic in December 2022 for an extended vacation and was staying with Victoria-Gonzalez at an Orlando home, police said. She spoke with her family regularly, but all communication stopped on Dec. 27, 2022.
That same day Victoria-Gonzalez reported her roommate missing. She told police she had not seen the woman since Christmas day, but her story was inconsistent and full of contradictions, police said.
Orlando Police searched the home and found "significant evidence" that a violent incident had occurred there, authorities said. However, Medina-Pacheco's body was never found.
Victoria-Gonzalez moved out of the home. After a multi-agency search, involving state and federal investigators, she was found at a house on High St. in Hartford, the blotter said.
