Weather Alert Issued for Stamford

An overnight dusting of snow added to the city’s wintery feel but wasn’t enough to affect Stamford schools. While there were delayed openings Tuesday in some parts of Fairfield County, Stamford schools were operating under normal hours Tuesday. Nevertheless, the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the region, so motorists should take special caution and be on the alert for icy road areas. According to the NWS, the chance of snow today and tonight is 20 percent. Temperatures will not get above freezing: A high of 26 is the prediction for Tuesday. The cold blast continues Wednesday, with a high of 27 degrees predicted along with northwest winds blowing at 14 to 21 mph.
