Severe Thunderstorms Expected in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Keep your umbrella with you for the rest of Friday as rain and thunderstorms are expected in Stamford throughout the night, the National Weather Service said. The forecast says that rain and severe thunderstorms are possible any time before 2 a.m.

Chance Of precipitation for Friday night is 60 percent and as much as 2 inches of rain could fall in the city, the forecast said. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s for much of the evening. A hazardous weather outlook was also placed in Stamford for the high winds expected to accompany the thunderstorms.

Once the rain stops on Saturday morning it should stay away for the weekend, the forecast said.

On Saturday and Sunday temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 80s with the sun shining both days. Temperatures will dip into the 60s both nights once the sun goes down, the weather service said.
