More Wet Weather Expected in Stamford

Stamford endured more rain Monday as the wet weather that hit most of last week is expected to continue this week, the National Weather Service says.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued by the weather service for Southern Fairfield County on Monday morning for the week. A thick fog is expected to develop Monday night, the warning says. Thunderstorms and a cold front are approaching the area, which could produce strong gusts of wind and large hail Tuesday through Sunday, the outlook says.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the afternoon and evening Monday. The fog is expected to roll in after midnight, the weather service predicts. Thunderstorms and showers will continue all day Tuesday, ending sometime Wednesday, the service says.

The wet weather should subside from Wednesday through Friday night with the chance of precipitation lower and the temperatures rising to about 80 degrees Thursday and Friday. The temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s for the weekend, but showers and thunderstorms could return.
