Meet Stamford's Man for All Weather Forecasts

Pablo Moreno works near his Hillandale Avenue home in Stamford and tries to walk to his job every day. “I usually walk when it doesn’t rain,” he said Monday as he made his way home.

But with the ever-changing weather this spring, Moreno needs to be prepared for anything when he walks, which is why he wore sunglasses and carried his umbrella.

Looking at this week’s weather forecast, he’ll need the umbrella a lot more than sunglasses.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain Tuesday, with the precipitation measuring between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch, the National Weather Service says. The rain is expected to continue into Tuesday night with another one-tenth to one-quarter inch.

Thunderstorms are expected Wednesday, with less than one-tenth of an inch. The rain will be heavier during the thunderstorms, the National Weather Service says. The showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue until about 1 a.m. on Thursday morning, with a 40 percent chance for precipitation.

The raindrops are expected to subside Thursday and not start again until Friday night. The drenching is expected to continue through Easter weekend, the National Weather Service says.

With all the wetness, the National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood statement for southern Fairfield County. But the flooding is likely to be minimal, the statement says.
