Update: Merritt Parkway Reopens In Stamford Construction Area After Crash

update: STAMFORD, Conn. — The northbound Merritt Parkway has reopened after a two-car crash in Stamford on Tuesday morning. The right lane remains closed in the area between Exits 35 and 36 and construction is continuing until 3 p.m.

original story: STAMFORD, Conn. — A two-car accident has closed the Merritt Parkway on the northbound side in Stamford on late Tuesday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation. 

The closure is between Exits 35 and 36, and delays are reported in the area, DOT said. 

The crash was reported Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 11:12 a.m., DOT said.

The traffic is a mess in the area: The DOT also reported that road work is underway in that area of the northbound Merritt Parkway between Exits 35 and 37, for 3.4 miles. Work will continue until 3 p.m., with the right lane closed as construction continues.
