A stretch of the Merritt Parkway has reopened after a serious crash.
The closure, on the southbound side, is at Guinea Road near the Stamford/Greenwich border and began around 4 p.m.
Gridlock stretched back to Norwalk during the closure and all traffic was routed via surface streets into Greenwich.
An earlier crash, reported at 3:15 p.m., caused southbound gridlock at North Street (Exit 31) with stop-and-go delays to Den Road (Exit 33).
