A man was killed this week after he was hit by a piece of heavy machinery in Connecticut, authorities said. The 68-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, man was at Lindy Farms on Fletcher Road when a skid steer loader backed into him just after 11:15 a.m., Enfield Police said. Authorities believe he was bending over, and the driver could not see him. The man's name was not released. The man worked at the farm, but in what capacity is unclear. A United Carting employee who was hit and killed by the garbage truck he was working on in Fairfield County has been identified. Bryan Rodriguez, age 28, of Stratford, was killed around 7:13 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11 in the area of Camfield Drive at Bloomfield Drive in Fairfield. Car Wash Employee Run Over By Customer In Greenwich
A car wash employee suffered serious injuries after being run over by a customer in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Greenwich at the Splash Car Wash at 73 Post Road around 10:20 a.m., on Monday, July 10. An initial investigation determined that an employee of the car wash was struck by a vehicle exiting the wash. The vehicle then continued crossing Post Road where it collided with another vehicle's driver's side, said Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police. Worker Injured After Fall At Fairfield University
A worker was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a fall at a Fairfield County university. The incident took place in Fairfield at Fairfield University around 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 31. The Fairfield emergency communications center received a call for a worker that had fallen through a roof on the Fairfield University campus, said the Fairfield Fire Department. An Eversource employee was hospitalized following a crash between a tow truck and a van. The crash took place around 8:42 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, on Watertown Avenue in Southbury, said Southbury Police Sgt. Nadine Amatruda. Amatruda said the crash took place when the van was traveling northbound on Watertown Avenue at Riverside Street, and the tow truck was traveling eastbound on West Main Street and Watertown Avenue. A Connecticut street sweeper was found dead after state police responded to a call for a vehicle crash. The incident took place around 5:43 a.m., Friday, Jan. 29, when the Connecticut State Police responded to the South Main Street Plaza, at 775 Main St., in Southbury for a report of a crash, state police said. ID Released For Man Killed After Falling Through Skylight Hole On Roof In Stamford
A Stamford man who was killed after falling through a hole for a skylight while working on the roof of an area building has been identified. Jacek Pilchowski, 59, fell more than 30 feet onto a concrete floor while replacing skylights on the roof of the Stamford Windustrial Company, said Stamford Police Capt. Tom Barcello.
