Deep Freeze: Wind Chill Advisory Extended To Sunday For Fairfield County
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The dangerous deep freeze is not over for Fairfield County. A Wind Chill Advisory has been extended until 8 a.m. Sunday for Fairfield County as well as most of Connecticut and the tri-state area. The very cold wind chills of 10 below zero to 20 below zero can cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. The high on Saturday will near 11 degrees — under sunny skies. A dangerously cold weekend with wind-chill factors plummeting to as low -22 degrees in parts of the area will be followed a new storm system that will usher in warmer temperatures but not before bringing snow and ice. FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The snowstorm that dropped as much as 13 inches of snow on parts of Fairfield County may be over, but a wind chill advisory remains in effect for the area through Saturday morning.
