Connecticut Man Dies At Rhode Island Beach, Police Say
A Connecticut man died after his body was found floating in the water at a Rhode Island beach.
Hartford County resident Frank Sievel, age 74, of Farmington, was pulled from the ocean around 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 7 at the Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island.
According to Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella, lifeguards pulled Sievel, who was unresponsive, from the water and began life-saving measures.
He was transported to the Westerly Hospital and was pronounced dead, the chief said.

A 51-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a car struck him in Connecticut.
The crash happened in the Hartford County town of East Granby on Rainbow Road eastbound near Larch Drive at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, Connecticut State Police said.
A 2010 Hyundai Elantra struck the man, who is a resident of Saint Lucie, Florida, while he was walking across the travel portion of the roadway, police reported.

A 72-year-old Fairfield County teacher has been charged with sexual assault for allegedly touching a student inappropriately at an area middle school last year.
The incident took place in Westport at Bedford Middle School on Thursday, Jan. 27, said Lt. David Wolf of the Westport Police Department.
