The French bulldog mix was discovered on Dec. 19 at 8 Turtle Creek Lane in East Hartford, East Hartford Animal Control reported. She was in active labor and struggling to breathe. She and her puppies died on the way to an emergency veterinary clinic shortly after being found. 'Deplorable Conditions': 103 Animals Rescued From CT Home, Owner Charged With Cruelty A Connecticut home was described as a house of horrors for the more than 100 animals that were trapped inside and with limited access to food, water, and clean air, authorities said. The conditions were so bad that veterinarians had to euthanize four of the dogs that were rescued because they were so sick.  Windham County resident Tracy Donovan, age 59, of Woodstock, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and charged with 103 counts of animal cruelty, Connecticut State Police said. Driver Hits Horse On Route 121 A horse was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place late Monday, Feb. 17 on Route 121 in Bedford when the horse had gotten loose and was in the roadway, said the Bedford Fire Department.
