CT Town Increases Staffing After 46 Vehicle Burglaries In Week
In just the past week one Connecticut police department has responded to 46 vehicle burglaries. The crimes are taking place in New Haven County in North Haven. "Criminals are smashing windows to locked vehicles and looking for items of value," the North Haven Police Department said. The crimes are taking place throughout town in commercial parking lots and residential neighborhoods. Windows Smashed, Purses Stolen At Darien YMCA
Police in Fairfield County are investigating after three vehicles had their windows smashed and belongings stolen. The incident took place in Darien around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, June 5 at the YMCA located at 2420 Post Road. Darien Police officers responded to the YMCA on a report of multiple motor vehicle burglaries, said Sgt. Dan Skoumbros, of the Darien Police. Neighborhood Watch Helps Cops Catch CT Drug Suspect
With help from vigilant neighbors, police in one Hartford County town were able to nab a man who may have been involved with car burglaries and had an alleged large amount of drugs including heroin. Peter Rolny, 46, of Wolcott, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 7, after Southington police officers responded to Pleasant Street on a report of a suspicious vehicle and unknown people trespassing on multiple properties, police said.
