In a moment that was just so 2020, the beloved New Haven Christmas tree seems to be damaged beyond repair.
The 65-foot-tall tree, a focal point for the city's holiday celebrations, was blown over by high winds on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Each year, New Haven prides itself on choosing the most beautiful tree for the city’s Green. This year’s tree, a Norway Spruce Evergreen, came from Budding Ridge Road in Cheshire. The tree has come to symbolize community, hope, and heart - as well as commercialism.

Covid-19: Half Of Americans Have Lost Job, Or Work Hours, Due To Pandemic, New Poll Says
Half the country has taken a financial hit due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and most don’t believe they’ll be heading back to work soon, according to a newly released Marist College poll.
According to the poll, 50 percent of Americans said they or someone in their household has lost their jobs or hours due to the virus, up from 18 percent from a previous poll just a month ago.
