Bookkeeper In Fairfield County Sentenced For $418K Embezzlement Scheme
A bookkeeper in Fairfield County has been sentenced to prison for fraud and tax offenses stemming from an embezzlement scheme. Penni Sherman, also known as Penni Parker, 53, of Norwalk, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford to eight months of imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release on Friday, Aug. 14. Shea ordered Sherman to spend the first two months of supervised release in home confinement. Stamford Sex Offender Admits To Child Porn Charge
A registered sex offender from Stamford is facing decades in prison after admitting to possessing dozens of videos and images of child pornography, including many of which include children under the age of 12. Brien Pennell, 31, who was previously convicted of having sexual contact with a teenage girl, pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to one count of receipt of child pornography following his arrest on March 20, 2018. Fairfield County Man Sentenced In ICE 'Dark Web' Child Porn Case
A Fairfield County man was sentenced for possessing child pornography after his conviction in a 'Dark Web' investigation led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations division in New Haven. The HSI operation led by special agents revealed in 2017 that Michael Hull, 61, of Shelton, was accessing the dark web to search for, view and download child pornography.
