Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton Throws His Hat In The Ring For Governor's Race
DANBURY, Conn. — It's official: Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton announced Tuesday that he is running for governor, according to the News-Times.
Boughton, a Republican, made the announcement at a press conference at a noon press conference at the Courtyard Marriott, the News-Times said.
This is third run for governor for Boughton, 53, who is serving a record ninth term as Danbury mayor.
Boughton, a Republican, formed an exploratory committee over a year ago and has been fundraising for a statewide race. Any candidate using public funds for a gubernatorial campaign must raise $250,000 in separat…
