Suspect Nabbed After Man Found Fatally Shot In Stamford Roadway Police have arrested a suspect after finding a man lying in the roadway following a reported shooting. The killing took place around 5:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 7 in Stamford at the intersection of Henry Street at Cedar Street, police said. When officers responded to the location they found Jeffrey Vanech, 49, of Stamford, lying in the roadway. Medical care was rendered and he was transported to Stamford Hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
