Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Stamford Firefighters from Fairfield County battled an apartment fire after receiving a report of an explosion and blaze that caused extensive damage to surrounding apartments.  The blaze broke out Sunday, March 28, in the early evening on Glenbrook Road in Stamford, said Stamford Fire Captain Philip Hayes. On arrival, firefighters found fire on the fourth floor of the complex coming from a single apartment, Hayes said.
