A cybersecurity “issue” has led the parent company of a supermarket chain to disconnect some systems to protect them. Ahold Delhaize USA said it recently detected a cybersecurity issue within its US network. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center has just released its outlook for the winter of 2024-25. A“slowly-developing” La Niña is expected to shape weather throughout the country from December through February, NOAA says. Pair Of Potential New Tropical Systems Brewing In Atlantic: Here's Latest
A pair of potential new tropical systems with the potential for development are being monitored by forecasters. The first, off the coast of Florida, is far west of Tropical Storm Philippe, which is now near the eastern Caribbean. (See the first image above.) Major Storm System Expected To Bring Strong Winds, New Round Of Rain To Region
A significant storm on track for the Northeast is expected to bring potentially damaging gusts and a new round of rainfall in the middle of the workweek. The system will move in from the Midwest on Wednesday, Nov. 30. It's the same storm that could cause a "possible severe weather outbreak in the Southeast, as well as a swath of snow across the Plains and Upper Midwest," according to AccuWeather.com. A storm with periods of rain and gusty winds will also bring spring snowfall and a wintry mix in parts of the Northeast.
