12 Displaced In Stamford Blaze Requiring 30 Firefighters Twelve residents of a Stamford home were displaced by a fire that required some 30 firefighters to bring under control, according to the Stamford Fire Department. The fire started in the kitchen around 4:23 pm Thursday at 63 Soundview Ave., said Deputy Fire Chief Patrick J. Tripodi. The first engine company arrived within three minutes of the alarm and found a kitchen fire at the rear of the two-and-half-story wood frame home, Tripodi said.  All 12 residents had safely self-evacuated before firefighters arrived on scene.
