Woman Tried To Cash Fake $920 Check At Webster Bank, Westport Police Say A woman has been charged after police say she tried to cash a fake $920 check at Webster Bank. Westport Police say they responded to Webster Bank at 224 Post Road East on the report of a female attempting to cash what staff members recognized as a fraudulent check for $920 on Monday, July 8 around 2:15 p.m. Upon arrival, police say bank employees explained that they had been recently alerted to fraudulent activity associated with the account by another branch of the bank and had recognized the check as being fake.
